I was born in Germany, but have been lucky and received the opportunity to live in several different countries over the years, including China, Singapore and the Netherlands. Since 2012 I have been mostly living on Canada’s West Coast to pursue my post-secondary education.

My interest in technology as well as the human mind has lead me to pursue several highly interdisciplinary degrees in the field of Cognitive Science on both the undergraduate and graduate level. My previous work on the cognitive processing of visual information has allowed me to secure multi-year funding for my current doctoral research on the development of improved computational creativity systems.

I’m also very passionate about teaching and science communication, which I plan to continue pursuing in the future, while also ideally conducting research in industry.
